Birthday Party Details & Policies

Altered Course Venue is at 70 East Main St, Sussex, NJ 07461. There is a large parking lot right in front of the venue, with plenty of space for all guests. We are in the same plaza as Annabel's Pizza, just a few doors down. It is one of our top recommendations for party food.

We host parties on Friday evenings and weekends. Looking for a different time? We can often accommodate flexible scheduling, so just ask.

Our standard party runs 90 minutes: 60 minutes of creative project time and 30 minutes to celebrate. You also get an extra 10 minutes to arrive early to decorate and for clean-up at the end. A few packages run 2 hours: Parkour or Karate, Big Screen Birthday and BFF Brunch. Your package listing shows the exact length.

Our standard package includes up to 10 guests, including the guest of honor. We can host a maximum of 24 guests in total. Additional guests are $25 each.

Parties with 11 to 24 guests require an extra party attendant, and a $65 fee is added for this service.

Yes. Extra time is $75 for each additional 30 minutes. Add-on project stations can also be included. Extended time must be arranged when you book.

Yes. During your event, Altered Course is reserved just for you. There are no walk-ins and no public access, so your group has the entire venue to itself.

We often host more than one event in a day, so we need time to reset the space for the next celebration. Please arrive and wrap up within your scheduled window.

First, check your party date with us. Once we confirm it, we'll send you a link to book your time and pay the $150 non-refundable deposit, which is applied to your final balance.

Your final guest count is due 7 days before your event. Some party themes may require a 14-day confirmation, and the details are listed in the party description. At that time we send a full Event Confirmation Form with your project choices, the waiver link, your final guest count and your personalized payment link.

The remaining balance is due at the end of your event.

Yes. All guests, or their guardians, must complete our waiver and photo release before participating. Open the waiver form.

If you need to reschedule, please let us know more than 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours cannot be refunded. If Altered Course needs to reschedule, we will contact you promptly and help you choose a new date.

We require one adult host to remain for the entire event.

To keep the crafting area safe and enjoyable, only participating children should be seated at the project tables or in the activity room. Adults are welcome in our front lounge area to relax during the party. Any children who are not participating must be supervised by an adult at all times.

For everyone's peace of mind, we ask that grown-ups come inside the studio to pick up their children. Kids are not allowed to run out into the parking lot.
