Location: Altered Course is located at 70 East Main St, Sussex, NJ
We offer a large parking lot right in front of the venue, providing plenty of space for all guests. We’re situated in the same plaza as Annabel’s Pizza, just a few doors down. They’re one of our top recommendations for party food and make planning your event even easier!

Event Details & Policies

Event Length

Our parties run for 90 minutes:
– 60 minutes of creative project time
– 30 minutes to celebrate
You’ll also have an extra 10 minutes to arrive early to decorate &  for clean-up at the end.

Party Times

We host events on Thursday and Friday evenings as well as weekends.
Looking for a different time? We can often accommodate flexible scheduling—just ask!

Private Use of the Space

During your event, Altered Course is reserved just for you.
No walk-ins, no public access—your group has the entire venue to yourselves.

Start & End Times

Please arrive and wrap up within your scheduled window.
We often host multiple events in a day, so we need time to reset the space for the next celebration.

Extra Time

Want to keep the fun going?
Additional event time is available at $75 per extra 30 minutes.
Add-on project stations can also be included—see our Add-Ons Page for details.
Extended time must be arranged when booking.

Party Size

Our standard package includes up to 10 guests, including the guest of honor.
We can accommodate a maximum of 24 total guests.
Additional guests may be added for an extra per-guest rate.

Attendant Fee

Parties with 11–24 guests require an extra party attendant.
A $65 fee will be added for this service.

Booking & Payments

Deposit

A $150 non-refundable deposit is due when booking to secure your date and time.
This deposit is applied to your final balance.

Guest Count Confirmation

Your final guest count is due 7 days before your event.
(Some party themes may require a 14-day confirmation—details will be listed in the party description.)

We’ll send you a full Event Confirmation Form at that time, including:
– Your project choices
– Waiver link
– Final guest count
– Your personalized payment link

Final Payment

The remaining balance is due at the end of your event.

Waiver & Photo Release

All guests (or their guardians) must complete our waiver and photo release before participating.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule, please let us know more than 48 hours in advance.
Cancellations within 48 hours cannot be refunded.

If Altered Course needs to reschedule, we will contact you promptly and help you choose a new date.

Drop-Off & Stay Guidelines

We require one adult host to remain during the entire event.

Safety & Organization

To keep the crafting area safe and enjoyable:
– Only participating children should be seated at the project tables or activity room.
– Adults are welcome in our front lounge area to relax during the party.
– Any children not participating must be supervised by an adult at all times.

What’s Included

  • Themed table covers for the craft and party tables.
  • A comfy coffee + relax area for adults.
  • A cute photo backdrop for fun party pictures.
  • All crafting materials and supplies for the project.
  • Mini fridge available for small refrigerated items. No heating appliances on site.

Party Host Checklist

Feel free to bring:

  • Your celebration treats — cake, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, or any sweet favorites
  • Drinks for your guests (water, juice boxes, etc.)
  • Paper products: plates, napkins, cups, utensils, serving trays
  • Balloons or extra decorations (optional)
  • Goodie bags (optional — guests already take home what they create!)

Day-Of Party Guide (Please Read 😊)

We’re excited to celebrate with you! Here’s what to expect on the day of your event so everything flows smoothly and stress-free.

Arrival
You’re welcome to come in about 10 minutes before your event to settle in, set up your food items, and greet your guests as they arrive.

How the Event Flows
Our parties follow a simple and relaxed rhythm:

  • Guests arrive and get comfortable

  • Creative project time/ activity room

  • Birthday treats and celebration

  • Pick-up/Quick tidy-up

Safety at Pick-Up
For everyone’s peace of mind, we kindly ask that grown-ups come inside the studio to pick up their children. Kids will not be allowed to run into the parking lot..

Party Host Responsibilities
You are welcome to bring and serve your own food, and we’ll provide bins for easy clean-up of your party table when your celebration time is finished.

Start & End Times
We appreciate your help in staying within your scheduled time. This allows us to reset the space calmly and thoughtfully for the next group.

If you’d like extra time added to your event, please let us know in advance so we can reserve it for you.
